Project Details
The business runs a busy logistics hub where lorries routinely unload raw materials and finished goods via 12 large bay doors.
Each of the bay doors is equipped with a heavy-duty spring mechanism designed to open and close efficiently under constant industrial use. However, these spring systems are prone to mechanical failure , breaking approximately 2-3 times per month. Each failure renders a bay door inoperable and presents a significant health and safety risk as repairs must be made at height.
The company began exploring options for an in-house , rapid deployment system that would:
• Provide safe access to the spring mechanism at the top of the bay doors
• Be cost-effective and reduce reliance on external scaffolding services
• Be easily deployable by trained staff on site
• Comply with all relevant health and safe standards for working at height.
The Solution
The Easi-Dec 6m Roofline safe access working platform was the perfect solution, consisting of two Easi-Dec Access Platforms and a Catwalk to join the two.
The system is compact when not in use and can be stored onsite.
The mobile capability means the system can easily be moved to each of the 12 bay doors and set up quickly in response to issues.
