Project Details
Blue Cube has permanent overhead track lines installed in the warehouse which makes accessing the roof and fans safer during production.
However, the portable units require servicing, maintenance and repair mostly located on the client’s premises across the UK.
This presents a number of hazards for the engineers in the field who carry out the work, including the risk of falls as they are working at height and often need to carry parts and tools onto the roof of the units.
The Health and Safety Manager reached out to the Easi-Dec team looking for a solution to improve safety when working on these portable units.
The Solution
The 2m Easi-Dec safe access working platform was the perfect solution, providing certified edge protection in under 10mins.
Lightweight and portable, the system can be transported on the inside or on the roof of a transit van.
The simple no tools design makes it easy to assemble and remove.
The system is compact when not in use and can be stored onsite.
The Result
Following a successful demonstration, our client went on to order 5 x 2m Easi-Dec platforms and a range of accessories including catwalks, various leg lengths and corner kits to ensure the team was fully equipped for a range of scenarios.
The Easi-Dec team provided full training in the use of the systems for the engineers at the company’s main facility.
The company now has a safe, portable solution for engineers on the road.
