About the Company:
A global leader in producing and recycling flexible plastic films, this company operates a large industrial facility in the UK. Faced with the need for essential roof repairs, they required a solution that would allow maintenance without disrupting the ongoing operations in their warehouse.
The Challenge:
The appointed contractor needed access to vents and roof areas considered fragile. The primary challenge was that the company’s production facility needed to remain fully operational during the repairs, making it essential to find a roof access system that provided safe access without requiring a pause in warehouse activity. A secure solution with a lifeline system was necessary to ensure the safety of workers while maintaining productivity.
The Solution:
Easi-Dec recommended its Boardwalk and Roofwalk systems, designed for industrial and commercial buildings with fragile roofs. This modular system includes an integrated positioning line along the entire walkway, providing a secure and extensive working platform. Easi-Dec supplied four Roofwalk systems with 32 metres of Boardwalk for each, illustrating the project’s large scale. A custom-sized catwalk was also fabricated to navigate obstacles on the roof, ensuring seamless access across complex roof areas.
To support both the contractors and the company’s staff, Easi-Dec conducted a Toolbox talk on-site, providing essential training in the safe assembly and disassembly of the system.
